people talk about going the "extra mile." That's bullshit, life is about inches, and they're all around us...

Its not going to take a paradigm shift, it will take baby steps. Stop using paper towels. if you don't compost, use a yard-waste bin -- which will take things like pizza boxes and all kitchen scraps. Use biodegradable trash bags. Stop using plastic grocery bags, or any plastic shopping bags. If you order take-out, and the restaurant uses non-recyclable containers, ask them to use them or don't go back. Drive a little less. Concern yourself with fuel economy when looking for a car. Any reason you can't run food containers through the dishwasher so they can go in the recycle bin? Try to eschew over-packaged goods. These are not big changes.
that's my political message for the day...

Are there biodegradible trash bags? Where do I get them.
I take my reusable bags to the grocery store, except when I forget, but I don't take them to places like Target. Maybe I need to find a fold up bag I can carry with me.
We're trying to be more aware of the little things.
Good post.
If you use the same container to hold the same kind of food, then there is really no need to run food containers through the dishwasher.
And before you recycle glass bottles, remember this: when you break the end off one it becomes a handy weapon.
As much as possible, I urinate outdoors (or indoors using a potted plant). Less water going through the sewage plant, more plants getting fertilized.
I'm way past the baby steps, and toddling my way to environmental conservatism :)
