I have argued in this space in the past that in the case of American politics, "Liberal" and "Conservative" are garbage terms and "Democrat" and Republican" are arbitrary labels, and that the REAL political divide falls along the line between Absolutists and Ambiguists.
Given this model, I find the Super Tuesday methodology to be fascinatingly appropriate. On the more Absolutist side, the "Republicans," the individual state's delegates are apportioned in a "winner take all manner." Very straightforward... On the more Ambiguist side, the "Democrats," , the delegates are apportioned in an almost ridiculously nuanced manner (which I don't claim to even understand) dependent on a number of factors.
Sometimes things just make sense.
