Ambiguously Disgruntled Manifesto

wasting your time since 1975

I guess it's time to post my Picks:

NFL:
Cleveland over Baltimore
Miami over New England
Chicago over Green Bay
Denver over San Diego
Buffalo over Oakland

PAC-10:
Oregon over Arizona
Notre Dame over Stanford
Washington over Cal-Berkely
OSU over UCLA
USC over WSU
yep, I'm going to keep right on picking against the Cougs, and hoping they win!

Some nights, you have it, some nights, you don't. Soccer can be a funny thing, just like all sports, just like life... my indoor team won, 5-2, I had 4 goals... do the math.

It's not as if I played all that well, either... honestly. I could easily have had a couple more, but I blew a couple of Great chances. My first goal, and the first of the game, came off a rebound. I stuck my foot out, the ball bounced off of it and in. My third goal came on a 2-1 break, I dealt the ball to my teammate, Steve, who took one dribble and tired to eke it past the goalie. Steve either mis-hit it, or something, as the ball trickeld past the goalie's outstretched arm at the top of the box, and was rolling mekely towards the goal, but was looking to go just wide right. i continued my run up the right side, beat the goalie and defender to it, and knocked it in. My fourth goal came when I recieved a pass at the top of the box, back to the goal, I turned and shot far post. The goalie extended his leg to make a kick save, but ended up deflecting it back between his legs and it trickled into the net. A fortunate bounce, I guess.

My Second goal, however, Was highlight reel stuff. I picked up a loose ball, touched it past a defender, and launched a low, blistering far-post shot that found the side netting. The goalie didn't have a chance.

To all my faithful readers: don't ever forget who loves you
for those of you who haven't heard, its the "new" old Nirvana song:

You Know You're Right

So I made a bunch of cider on Saturday --- if you look at "Picture Ofthe Day" you probably just gathered that --- and now I'm making a couple batches of hard cider from it -- again, as "told" in "POD." In all, we pressed close to, if not more than, 30 gallons of Pure Apple-y goodness, and I came away with some 14 gallons. Yeah.

the Bengals are the sleeper team in the NFL this year
