You've probably wondered why a bunch of homebrewers in the often-dreary Northwest have suddenly become fascinated with making Pineapple-flavored beers, of all damn things. Well, you can thank Ryu (aka Mike Lee) from Hawaii, but currently residing in the old South End Homeland (Kent, to be specific). When Ryu first started mentioning wanting to make a Pineapple Lambic, I dismissed him as a quack. Fortunately, he planted a seed in my head, and I later found myself inviting him up to help me make a Pineapple Ale. We here at Ambiguously Disgruntled consider it the Sacred Duty of the Homebrewer to create truly unique and original batches, and none of us has exactly heard of a whole lot of people using Pineapple in their brews. This last November ('02) we got around to starting the Pineapple Lambic venture, and there will inevitably be more Pineapple concoctions to come. Other than that, Ryu will be more than happy to tell you all about the interesting life cycle of the Pineapple Plant.
