So it is time to weight in on the twp new beers that have come from our brewery. The pilsner and the rasberry wheat. The pilsner is just par. It is the kind of forgettable beer that yo throw a lime into and drink. It dosen't really make you think "that was a hell of a beer" it just slides down your throat in a nonchalent way. Now i do not want to be completely unfair here, it is a pilsner and for a pilsner to get even a par on my scale means that it is fairly good. I just do not like most pislners.
the next beer in line for description is the first of the rasberry wheat. I come from a faimly who fervently believe that you should "never get a berry near a beer". of course, the lambic style is the one exception to this rule. Having said that, you probally get the feeling that this is the lease drinkable beer we have produced. Well that is how i feel so congradualtions. The problem is that the strong berry flavor hits you as you drink the beer and then the hopps kick in and say hello. The two flavors wrestle for control of your taste buds and the taste buds, like tables in at a bar fight, lose. The solution as i see it is to cut back on the time we boil the hopps. Perhaps only putting them in the last 15 minuets. Dry hopping could also be a soultion to this contentions flavor dispute.
